The crew interview actor Peter Rowley at Sale St.
Peter Rowley plays the character of ‘Carl’ the barman of the local pub of Netherwood. Peter talks about some of his experiences on and off set.
Peter is an icon of New Zealand Comedy, having appeared in the landmark television series The Billy T. James Show from 1984 – 1989, Letter to Blanchy and numerous seasons of McPhail and Gadsby. He is also responsible for bringing to life one of New Zealand’s most loved characters Dog from Footrot Flats in the 1987 film A Dog’s Tail. Peter’s other film credits include Stephen King’s Tommyknockers, Black Stallion (opposite Mickey Rooney) and Ozzie (opposite Joan Collins).
Vlog #3 – the lovely Miriama Smith!
Miriama Smith talks about what is was like filming on ‘Netherwood’ in Waipara, North Canterbury, and her on and off set experiences.
Miriama’s professional acting career started at just 15, when she appeared in the New Zealand police drama Shark in the Park. Since then she has had a very successful acting career in both film and TV here and in Australia. Career highlights include: The Adventures of the Swiss Family Robinson, Shortland Street, Young Hercules, Xena, Mercy Peak, Spooked, Last Man Standing and Power Rangers. On top of this Miriama is a very accomplished presenter, having worked on such shows as Intrepid Journeys and House & Garden. She was also a judge on New Zealand’s Got Talent.
Vlog #4 – Mick Innes
Mick Innes shares his experiences while shooting ‘Netherwood’, in front and behind the camera.
As luck would have it Mick also hails from the North Canterbury region, so he brought a lot of local knowledge to the role of Gordon. Mick began his acting career in Australia where he is best known for playing the role of Martin Henderson’s father Darcy, in the Australian Soap ‘Echo Point’. Whilst living in Australia Mick appeared in many classic Australian Films and Television series including; ‘Two Hands’, ‘Bootmen’, ‘Blue Heelers’, ‘Water Rats’, ‘All Saints’ and ‘Home & Away’. On his return to New Zealand Mick has been working regularly in roles on television and stage. He has appeared in the Telefeature ‘Stolen’ alongside Miriama and also features in recent Kiwi films ‘The Strength of Water’ and ‘The Insatiable Moon’.
